LL Cool J is definatly regarded as one of the a very popular rap artists and this was the album that became his real commercial breakthrough. 'Bigger And Deffer' is definatly one of the early classic rap LPs. He also includes some humorous raps combined with some hard hitting raps and the ballad. It's a great LP to there is more than enough variety. 'My Rhyme Aint Done' shows the humour, keeping up the attitude but rapping about cartoon characters 'Go Cut Creator Cut', a sick scratch special with a Chuck Berry sample 'The Do Wop'? A tasty little mix of sounds... A great, enjoyable album, and the key point to remember is how ... Read the complete review

'Radio' was LL Cool J's debut album and was released in 1985 on the Def Jam Recordings label. In fact, this was the first full-length LP that was released on the label and 'I Need A Beat' was also the first official single from the label. The whole album was produced by Rick Rubin (Def Jam co-founder and then producer), with a co-producer credit going to Jazzy Jay on 'I Need A Beat'. 1 I Can't Live Without My Radio 2 You Can't Dance 3 Dear Yvette 4 I Can Give You More 5 Dangerous 6 El Shabazz 7 Rock The Bells 8 I Need A Beat 9 That's A Lie 10 You'll Rock 11 I Want You This is one of ... "Radio" is the debut release from LL Cool J, a rapper who has stuck with his record label, Def Jam since its creation a year before this album came out. LL's 1985 record came 23 years before his latest release "Exit 13" which recently came out, and so clearly this one shows how long he's been in the game, and the progression he has made. Upon release, Ladies Love Cool James (LL Cool J), the MC was only 17 years old, and had shown strong potential, which he clearly lived up to. 1. "I Can't Live Without My Radio" The track which the album is named after is the one to get things started for this album as you have LL Cool J ... Read the complete review

Holds your interest, is very cool
may be slightly repetitive for some.
Blodhemn - Enslaved
Better production, more great black metal songs.
Less creative.
Frost - Enslaved
Hugely atmospheric, varied, very intense
A little cheesy/disjointed in places
Ensiferum - Ensiferum
The most accessible Viking metal, with memorable songs.
Tends towards similarity.
Heathenreel - Elvenking
Great example of folk power metal.
Elements clash to some extent.
No World Order - Gamma Ray
Unadulterated heavy metal for genre fans.
Mix Judas Priest with Helloween, and dilute.
Powerplant - Gamma Ray
Continues the classic metal sound.
Almost entirely derivative of itself and other bands.
Somewhere Out In Space - Gamma Ray
Classic speed metal, finally escaping the Helloween comparison.
Cheesy lyrics and dated sound, but for me this is a bonus.
Victory Songs - Ensiferum
More fun folk metal.
Runs ideas into the ground.
Eld - Enslaved
Continues to evolve Viking metal in a perfect fusion with black metal.
First song steals thunder from the others.
