In the early 90s innovative guitarist Tom Morello left his band 'Lock Up' and went in search of members for new band. After seeing rapper Zach de la Rocha playing a club he also enlisted drummer Brad Wilk and childhood friend Tim Commerford on bass. Calling themselves 'Inside Out' they put together they put together some demo tracks that would later evolve into the self-titled 'Rage Against the Machine'. This album also features Stephen Perkins on percussion and some guest vocals from Maynard James Keenan (Tool and Perfect Circle) for 'Know your Enemy'. I was only 6 when this album was released, and first heard it close to 10 years later in a friends car. The power of the music and lyrics instantly pulled me in. I had to own this album. It's time to review my favorite album of the moment. And there's no better time to review it that when your playing it constantly in your car, bopping about down every road and lane!! Rage Against The Machine (Rage) are not often labelled as 'the best band in the world', and in my opinion this is a huge mis-carrige of justice. They give me everything i could want from a band. The fact that their influencial singer Zak De La Rocha has just decided to leave due to not 'fulfilling has musical and political goals' doesn't help rage, nevertheless there are millions of partizan Rage fanatics around the world who cannot speak more highly of ... Rage Against The Machine are not often labelled as 'the best band in the world', and in my opinion this is a huge mis-carrige of justice. They give me everything i could want from a band. The fact that their influencial singer Zak De La Rocha has just decided to leave due to not 'fulfilling has musical and political goals' doesn't help rage, nevertheless there are millions of partizan Rage fanatics around the world who cannot speak more highly of them. I'd say this is their best album by quite a distance, which is amazing considering albums like 'The Battle of Los Angeles' is a stunning album as well. What's even more amazing ...
