Rating:

1975, and following the acclaim of Mirage s White Rider Suite (based on the fall and subsequent rise of Gandalf in the Lord of the Rings), and their eponymous Debut, Camel wanted to purse more conceptual suites - in particular novel themes. This album is based on the short story The Snow Goose, by Paul Gallico. tuneful melodies powerful lyrics in a consistent collection of songs not everyones cup of tea, some may find the album a bit samey

good songs, no really bad songs. unnecessarily long review!!

Mellow uplifting tracks Some unusual tracks which some might not like

Progressive Rock - 1989

Some decent Post-Hardcore music with elements of rock thrown in for good measure. Quite generic in sound, provides nothing particularly new to offer to the genre.

Great songs old and new, good beats, makes doing the housework a little better Might remind you of housework every time you listen, some songs wont appeal to everyone

Lock Up The Wolves - Dio
Valiant effort. Sub-par incarnation of the band can't achieve too much.

Lucidity - Delain
Strong guitars, soaring keyboards and excellent vocals Growly vocals feel a little out of place at time

Macabre - Dir En Grey

Magica - Dio
Dio gets his mojo back, and celebrates in bombastic concept album style. Riffs are still repetitive and plodding.

Massive Killing Capacity - Dismember
Endlessly catchy guitar riffs and successful melodic experimentation. Central songs are less memorable.

Killing The Dragon - Dio
Returns to tried-and-tested ground. Fails to live up to the old standard.

Kobzar - Haydamaky
Some superb music The flute on one or two tracks does my head in

Last In Line - Dio
More classic metal, with Dio's best song in the title track. Essentially nine more tracks of the same.

Leave Scars - Dark Angel
A heavier take on eighties thrash. Less memorable than its predecessor.

Lady Of The Lore - Desdemona
Fun power metal. Heard it all before.
