Although this is a B sides and rarities affair of an album I would personally say that it is probably the best place to start for anyone who is wishing to give Billy a go. I remember when it first came out somebody i knew had heard 'Between the Wars', had liked it, and had asked me if the new album on the shelves in the local CD shop was the place to start. Judging by the type of album it was i said no. now i see my foolish mistake. Because of the nature of the album it contains a very comprehensive mixture of the styles that Bragg has covered in most, if not all of his albums. There are even one or two songs that sound a bit like the Woody Guthrie stuff he did ...
