Advantages: Classy artwork, Some amazing songs, Varied sound

Disadvantages: Groovejet not included, A couple of weak tracks

This is a fantastic album from a fantastic star. Sophie Ellis-Bextor is truly shining as one of Britain’s brightest stars of the moment. This album is full of fantastic tunes. Her cover of Cher’s Take Me Home is great and Murder On The Dancefloor is another firm favourite of mine. Each track here could be a single, with only one exception. By Chance is a disappointing track on this amazing album. As many reviewers have pointed out, there are no tracks with the immediate poppy sparkle of the two singles, but it is highly innovative, feel good, exciting music. Other tracks to watch out for include Lover, The Universe Is You and Leave The Others Alone. Sophie’s vocals are very distinctive and a joy to listen to. The artwork’s great and highly original too. It’s a shame that Spiller’s Groovejet isn’t included, but that’s only a minor moan. Get this as soon as you can.
