Come An' Get It - Whitesnake

Premium Review Extra! Extra! Coverdale flaunts his whitesnake! (922 words)
by david_1967 - written on 19/03/08 (Very useful, 52 readings)
Rating:

idea from David? Surely those lines from older tracks such as "Lie down I think I love you" could not have given them that absurd idea! I saw Whitesnake in 82 and 83 and thought they were brilliant. Much better than when I went to see them in Newcastle following the release of their album 1987 which was just full of American posturing and showing off which, to me, just went to show that David Coverdale had now left his roots behind and had taken up residence in the big-hair hotel with fancy trousers and highlights on his bonnet. Whitesnake back in those early 80 s were very much a blues/rock band with plenty of slide guitar and smoky vocals and a far ...

Live In The Heart Of The City - Whitesnake

Premium Review Classic Live Whitesnake! (327 words)
by jamesbevis2 - written on 23/11/08 (6 readings)
Rating:

Long before David Coverdale adopted the big hair and the US style heavy metal that brought the 1987 Whitesnake prolific period, he was the front man for a much smaller, classier and hard rockin version of Whitesnake. Live In The Heart Of The City was recorded over two dates in 1980 and one date in 1978 and from the legendary Hammersmith Odeon in London, England. This classic early live album features some excellent work form the two guitarists Bernie Marsden and Micky Moody and the solid vocal talents of Coverdale are apparent in every single track. One of the most pleasing aspects of this album is the phenomenal sound quality throughout which really helps to ...

have for any Whitesnake fan. It was originally released on double vinyl but has since come out on a double cd package. The songs are great and my favourite has to be their cover of deep purple s "Mistreated" although my mates disagree. However, me and my mates all enjoy this collection as a whole. It is worth looking ...
