Recipe for hate was bad religions 7th full studio album release, it was released in 1993 and by this time making great punk rock albums seemed to be coming naturally to Bad Religion. There songs were getting better and better with each album release, and their fan base was getting bigger and bigger too. They were offered a better deal at Atlantic records and therefore this was their last album released under Epitaph records who they were previously signed with. Released in 1993, 'Recipe for Hate' is the seventh studio album released by Bad Religion; an album which contains my personal favourite Bad Religion song 'American Jesus'. The album consists of fourteen tracks and has a total run time of just over 37 minutes. This was Bad Religion's last release on Epitaph Records before leaving for the Atlantic record label; the band did however see a return to Epitaph in 2001. Although the album does behold my favourite Bad Religion song of all time, it's definitely not my favourite album by the band and if I were to create a list of my favourite Bad Religion albums of all time then 'Recipe for Hate' would certainly rank someway down ... Bad Religion's final album on the independent Epitaph label is their second and final attempt to produce something different from the norm, before returning to their customary style for subsequent works. While 'Generator' was more focused on packing in ideas and bulking out the songs, 'Recipe for Hate' takes the satisfyingly different approach of incorporating elements of country and folk music into songs that have otherwise returned to the earlier style. This slower and more old-school Americana approach to songs such as 'Man With a Mission,' 'All Good Soldiers' and 'Don't Pray on Me' is very successful, predating Green Day's similar direction towards the end of the ...
