Advantages: some really good songs, good to see them do slow songs too

Disadvantages: not all of them are amazing

Recipe for hate was bad religions 7th full studio album release, it was released in 1993 and by this time making great punk rock albums seemed to be coming naturally to Bad Religion. There songs were getting better and better with each album release, and their fan base was getting bigger and bigger too. They were offered a better deal at Atlantic records and therefore this was their last album released under Epitaph records who they were previously signed with.

The first track, recipe for hate is the opening song and it does a good job in putting out a good first impression of the album. The intro is good, it draws you into the song and the singing style in this one is great, fast, but short lines at first then it slows down for the chorus and the mixture of the two sound really good together.

Track number three is a really good track, American Jesus is one of my favourite songs by Bad Religion, is not very fast and its one where you can hear him sing well, the guitar to it is just so well written and it makes the song very catchy.

Don't pray on me is another one of my favourites off the album, I just really like the slower style, and even a bit depressed style of his singing on this song, it just sounds really good. The only thing that's a bit annoying is the screeching guitar that keeps going on, it sounds okay in parts but not all the way through.

1. Recipe for Hate
2. Kerosene
3. American Jesus
4. Portrait of Authority
5. Man With a Mission
6. All Good Soldiers
7. Watch It Die
8. Struck a Nerve
9. My Poor Friend Me
10. Lookin' In
11. Don't Pray on Me
12. Modern Day Catastrophists
13. Skyscraper
14. Stealth

Altogether this album produced some more fine bad religion tracks, and the ones which weren't amazing, were still pretty good and that's why it was another really good album for bad religion. If you're a fan, or just like punk this is a must have album for sure.

Summary: another great bad religion album
