Advantages: Great Songs, Difference of songs, It's the Divine Comedy - Thats an advantage

Disadvantages: My repeat buttons broke, Not enough songs

I am sixteen years old and I have liked The Divine Comedy all my life. I have three older sisters and an older brother, who all liked different types of music, but the main music most of them listened to was 'Indie'. I was brought up listening to indie, and from a very early age, enjoyed the music of Blur, Oasis, Ash (who still rock), Pulp, Suede and The Divine Comedy. My favourite song, for most of my life, was The Divine Comedy - Something for the weekend, I heard that song as a child and loved it! When I went to Cardiff in May (on the day of the FA cup final - What an idiot, it was packed!) with a mate, we went into a music shop and the offer was 2 albums for £22. This was good, but I couldn't decide what I wanted, and then I spotted 'Regeneration'. I made up my mind there and then. I bought the album and took it home. I listened to the album and now I love it! I think the fact that I wanted to like there songs, even if they weren't very good (but they are) played a big part in why I love the album. I wanted them to have a good album because they have always been my favourite band! The album contains 11 songs, and there is a big difference in the type of music on this album compared to the likes of Casanova, Promenade and Liberation! The songs are:

1. Timestretched
2. Bad Ambassador
3. Perfect Lovesong
4. Note To Self
5. Lost Property
6. Eye Of The Needle
7. Love What You Do
8. Dumb It Down
9. Mastermind
10. Regeneration
11. The Beauty Regime

This album has many different types of songs, all different and great for different occasions.
There are four songs on the album that i would consider "slow". These are number 4, number 6, number 9 and number 11. These songs have a slow, loud beat and a guitar playing. Number 2 and number 7 are the fastest songs on the album and contain the most instruments in the songs. All of these songs prove the talent of Neil Hannon
greatly. They show he has a huge singing range, voloume and speed. Neil Hannon has to be one of the greatest singers and writers there is, and this album proves it, with Neil Hannon writing all the songs, singing all the songs and also playing the guitar and additional keyboard on nearly all of the songs. I believe, for me, that this is the album of the year and will take pride of place in my collection of Divine Comedy albums!
I believe that this is a very good album, but not to everyones taste. A lot of my friends dont like this type of music, but I am not going to like whatever music they like just to suit them, because I love Divine Comedy, they are the greatest. I dont buy CD's that often, but when I saw this, I couldn't resist, that shows how much I wanted it!
If you like Divine Comedy, I recommend this album, but expect a difference, a good one of course!

An improvement, but not really up to 'vh' standards in my view. Sorry to be so harsh!

I love DC, but people interested in buying the album would be at a loss as to how it sounds from this review. Maybe you could describe each song in turn?
