The band ar... Read the full review: The new Pogues maybe by fuzzybear |

The Sweet Sound Of Cocoa Tea - Cocoa Tea ... and Ragga artist Cocoa Tea has a smooth voice, in an almost early ska sound like Desmond Dekker, he has no problems whatsoever getting across his catchy lyrics which are ideal for relaxing to as well as dancing the night away. This album is a compilation of the artists best work, a two disc album that does its best to cover all of his classic tracks. My personal favourites are "Lost My Sonia", "Israel s King" and "Riker s Island", you ll find numerous versions of some songs that have been taken from different albums, essentially the same song but often quite different to the ears. The sweet melodies combined with the often slight... Read the full review: Smooth vocals to awesome reggae by dangaroo |

Earth Crisis - Steel Pulse ... Crisis was not the most critically acclaimed album by Birmingham roots reggae band Steel Pulse but it s as good as they come in my eyes. Originally released in 1984, it followed a bit of a poor period for the band where their classic roots sound of the 70s was temporarily lost. This album shows a return to form, tracks like Roller Skates, the title track Earth Crisis and Grab Education are legendary. Despite the social and political commentary that appears on this album, it s ridiculously cheerful and the music is the type that you just can t avoid dancing too. This and the albums African Holocaust and True Democracy really put Steel Pulse on the map as a great reg... Read the full review: Classic British reggae album by dangaroo |

Pay Attention - Mighty Mighty Bosstones ... Mighty Mighty Bosstones are, in my opinion, one of the quintessential ska punk bands of our generation. Forming in 1983 they certainly have experience in their field and are dubbed as the creators of the ska-core genre. Pay attention was released in 2000 and to this day is still one of my favourite albums of all time. This album contains the classic Bosstones traits - blasting punchy horns, maniac drumming and Dicky Barretts strong, melodic vocals. Track by track this album is a winner with it s upbeat and danceable songs only slowing down for track number 6 - High School Dance (a post-columbine commentary of teens). The strongest tracks on the album include Let m... Read the full review: Pay Attention: Classic Bosstones! by Jamwee |
