B Is For B-sides - Less Than Jake ... is for B-sides is a fairly an album from ska punk band less than jake. Its not an amazing album and that is because it is what it says on the tin, its B sides and basically 12 songs that weren t quite good enough to make it onto their anthem studio album. However saying that, the album anthem was incredible and when buying this, I knew that the songs that didn t make it must still be fairly good as the songs that were on the album were all fantastic. The first song is portrait of a cigarette smoker at 19, it s a fantastic song and it could have easily made it onto a full studio album. Hang-ups - Goldfinger ... King Blues are a favourite band of mine because of the wide range of influences they have in their music and in particular some punk, reggae and ska influences all mashed together and another band I like, Goldfinger use a similar style in their music as you can detect both the punk and ska influences in this innovative bands music. Hello Rockview - Less Than Jake ... rock view was the third studio album released by the American ska punk band Less Than Jake. I think it was actually the first album I heard them do and off the back of this it made me want to get their older albums as well as buy their newer album releases in the future as well. The first song is last one out of liberty city, at first with the bassline it almost sounds like its going to be a hard punk song however then the trumpets and the other ska instruments kick in and it becomes a much more fun song.
