Legend - Bob Marley ... album title tells the whole story in my opinion. This guy was basically responsible for a nation being so strongly connected to a particular genre of music. His song writing ability is second to none, even some of his not so brilliant songs are well written! And he sings every single word from the absolute bottom of his heart. This album just brings everything all together in one piece, this missing piece of a jigsaw you might say. The track list is devised extremely well and with great logical thinking. It flows in the way an album should. My favourite tracks on this record are: Redemption Song - my favourite Bob Marley song of all time, you know that he means every ... Wind Up Toys - Capdown ... was a Milton Keynes based band active between the years of 1997 and 2007. During the decade that the band was around three albums were released, the third and final of which was the Wind Up Toys album. Wind Up Toys was released through Fierce Panda Records in early 2007 and consists of twelve tracks. It is my opinion that this is by far the weakest of the three and every time I listen to this album I feel nothing but disappointment. The bands first two albums were excellent, Wind Up Toys is nowhere near the same sort of quality however and only a few tracks present here really impress. Terms And Conditions Apply is one of the few impressive tracks prese... Read the full review: Keeping Up Appearances by rleigh |

The Specials - Specials ... - The Specials It s 1979 I am 16 going on 17, left school and am a scooter skin, which basically meant I rode a scooter (Lambretta SX 200) and had a skinhead. I was into Ska in a big way, but old style skinhead Ska, The Pioneers, The Upsetters etc. Then something happened, we got British Ska, The Beat, Selector, Madness (early on) and the best of all, The Specials. I have two vinyl LP s left in my house, this one (very scratched) and one by a band called Back To The Planet. This LP rocked, it got played over and over from 79 to 81 (when The Jam took over for me). ~~~~~The Band~~~~~ The band themselves seemed to consist of hundreds of people, though in fact ...
