Advantages: Some excellent tracks

Disadvantages: Nothing really new

After being away for five years from the rap scene filling his body with alcohol drugs and from some of the early pictures food on an Elvis style scale Eminem is back with a new abrasive return album which at the end of the day plays it a bit safe and gives you a bit more of the style of music that you are used to from the Detroit rapper.

For any sensitive souls out there this is not the album for them as it deals with some pretty horrible subject matter, naturally he has been in a dark place these past few years and this has gven him plenty of material to focus on with many songs voicing murderous intent and acts of rape and torture there are some dark lyrics set to some thumping catchy beats and as usual he varies his vocal style of delivery.

His mum gets singled out for some abuse with the catchy My Mom which is an attempt to blame his drug addiction for pain killers like vicadon on his mothers habit. He also attacks some of the young starlets of Hollywood and the music industry as he fantasises about killing them, Britney, Lohan, Carey and Jessica Simpson all get mentions in later tracks.

We Made You is probably the catchiest track on the album with a femae vocalled chorus that is rather upbeat however for me Beautiful is probably the best track on the album and I assume will be a single release at some point in time.

I do wish he would drop the skits though as these add little, fortunately I have the CD so for my MP3 player and did nottransfer them over.

Ths is a safe album that will appeal to fans, it is a bit "more of the same" in style but then it is a style that works for him and there are enough good songs to make it worth listening to, if you found his old stuff offensive then give it a miss because this is more of the same.
