I think the picking of the guitar honestly couldnt be any better. i havent heard anyone i know say a bad word about this song, thats how good it is. Better than you: Im not so keen on this track to be very honest. it doesnt appeal with me. it does have a brilliant beat though. Slither: At first i didn't quite know what to make of this track it has a light rhythm similar to the enter sandman one which i like, but i couldnt quite understand why they would ...more

Premium Review Reload - Metallica: Load Part II: You Wait 5 Years For a Bus, etc. (1430 words)

Metallica’s 1996 album ‘Load’ received mixed reactions on its release. The band’s first album since their self-titled classic of 1991, Load saw the commercial rock side of the band come to the fore, mixed with elements of blues, country and experimental rock to create a sound that, while a disappointment to fans from their earlier thrash metal days, was at least original, creative and enjoyable. The not-so-long-awaited follow up ‘Reload’ was released in 1997, containing the thirteen tracks that would have appeared on the proposed Load double album, before the record company urged the band to release an album sooner rather than later. While most of these songs ...  Read the complete review

This album was released as the follow up album to 1996’s ‘Load’ album; it was released on Vertigo Records in 1997. In my opinion this album is not as good as Load but is still full of very good, original Metallica style tunes. The album comes with a 29 page book in the same style as the Load album with small parts of the songs written out and pictures of the band, just in this album all the pictures are live shots from concerts. All the songs are to the usual high standard of Metallica songs with complicated guitar playing and riffs. The songs are as follows: Fuel- This song opens the album with the words “give me fuel, give me fire, ...  Read the complete review

Reload: Metallica Fuel: i have spoke about this track in my S&M review but that version is live and has the orchestra behind it. This Version isn't my favourite. The track has an awesome riff and great catchy lyrics, the tempo is a fast one and it works nicely. The Memory Remains: Hmm this song is AMAZING! i do prefer this version to the one on S&M. I recommend this to any one who loves Rock music. It just has that feeling to it. With riffs that good can you blame people for loving Metallica so much? Devils Dance: I love the bass at the beginning of the song it gives it the metal feeling which is what you want with ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review why do people not like this!?  (795 words)

Metallica is my favorite band of all time. Yes I know everyone seems to think that their past their prime and the older stuff is the only stuff good by them. Bullcrap. Reload is my favorite album by Metallica and I don't care what any of you say. I love the really hard stuff back in the 80's too but come on. LET THEM GROW! VARIETY IS A GOOD THING! I for one would rather they try something different then end up like AC/DC and soon Pantera approach where as every single record is the same thing. The fact that metallica wasn't afraid to go their own direction(yet again) is the exact reason they are my favorite. Without Load and Reload they aren't even in my ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Reload - Metallica: Load 2: The Carbon Copy (473 words)
by - written on 22/06/00 (Very useful, 101 readings)

Oh dear, it seems that Metallica have really lost the plot with this album. After releasing their shocking album 'Load' in 1996 which saw the band lose their long hair for pimp suits and adopt a penchant for ZZ Top, the band decided to release the sequel the following year, which is nothing but a watered down carbon copy of 'Load'...again! 'Load' however was a good record for what it was; Metallica are a band who are known always to 'go against the grain' created a cracking record of rock diversity while still clinging on to parts of their metal roots. Okay, maybe it didn't please all their fans, but after 15 years you can forgive ...  Read the complete review
