Advantages: great music, cool video clips, variations galore

Disadvantages: costs a little more

I was lucky enough to be given one of the “special edition” double CD copies of RELOAD and whilst I did not buy it myself. I think that its well worth a serious look at.

In addition to the normal CD, you get an extra CD as well. The normal CD has seventeen tracks on it, each with a different singer or band and tom Jones himself. The range of artists is varied as is the type of song sung.

However, the second CD is well worth a look at. It focuses on four tracks from the basic CD. These are :-

 Burning down the house – with The Cardigans
 Baby, its cold outside – with Cerys from Catatonia
 Mama told me not to come – with Stereophonics
 Sexbomb – with Mousse T.

The second CD shows videos of these four songs which you can play on your CD using QuickTime. It works with any PC or Apple Mac computer. If you don’t have QuickTime on your computer, don’t worry as the CD comes with it already installed on the disc. All you need is a minimum RAM of 32mb and a soundcard with speakers on your PC.

In addition to these four videos, it also has these same four tracks for you to play in your CD audio system, but they are different mixes from the original CD. Sexbomb has a Peppermint disco radio mix, Mama told me comes with a “Rotten” remix, Baby has a Hefner mix and Burning down comes with a Pepe deluxe mix.

These extras give a different slant on the basic CD and I think its great. I like listening to the variations and soundtrack differences and I also like having the video tracks.

If you have already bought reload, I would not buy it again for this extra CD, but if you are going to splash out and buy this great CD, consider spending the extra money and getting the special edition. I really like what it has to offer.

We could have got most of that information from the CD box. What do *you* think of it, are the videos good quality? Are the remixes any good, or are they a waste of time? Alan
