Advantages: good tracks
Disadvantages: 1 poor song
Cappella are one of my favourite dance acts, they helped pave the way for the likes of Cascada and Ultrabeat, with their soaring euro dance sound, they conquered the charts in the nineties.
There are twelve tracks on this special remix album, which is quite a rare release. It is thus a treat for Cappella fans. You get some of the original songs and also some new mixes which you might not be familiar with.
'Move On Baby' is a powerful start with a riff which will leave you quaking in your boots. There is a sinister air about the riff, as it strikes some chords which raise the hairs on the back and make you go all shivery. The song boasts a proud and alert vocal from vocalist Kelly. In some parts she sounds quite manly, as she reaches very low depths with her tones!
'U Got 2 Know' has less vocals, but a killer hook. The song has dated but still sounds pretty good if you pitch it up a bit. The same can be said for 'U Got 2 Let The Music,' which is one of the standout songs, thanks to a spellbinding tune and plenty of kick.
'U And Me' is pretty strong, though lacks the oomph of the aforementioned, it is also getting quite samey by this point, how many songs must have the word 'U' in the title!? The underground remix of this adds a darker slant to the standard euro mix.
I love 'Move It Up' which seems to lift and lift at every turn, backed by a really meaty vocal and some excellent production, it's a winner. We then revisit 'U Got 2 Let the Music' with a remix by Professor Trance X. This takes the original and spices it up with a tougher sound.
Avoid 'Big Beat' which does not sit well and sounds quite unlike the rest of the material, also has some dodgy vocals! The album is worth checking out if you like euro dance though.
