Renegade - HammerFall

Hammerfall's third album continues the trend of increasingly unimpressive copies of 'Glory to the Brave,' re-enacting the same ideas with slightly less conviction each time. This album contains a few fast, energetic moments, but mostly plods along at a tedious pace, and doesn't offer anything to compensate for the loss of energy. Fortunately, this is power metal, and there are still a few catchy choruses to justify the listening experience, particularly that of the otherwise lacklustre opener 'Templars of Steel.'
