Resolve was the seventh full studio album from the American punk band lagwagon. It was also the first lagwagon album not to feature the drummer Derrick Plourde who tragically committed suicide and the album was written and recorded after his death and released as a tribute to him.
The first song off the album is pretty much the perfect punk skate song, its got everything really, its got incredible lyrics, its sung well its got great guitar and drums and it's a really fast paced song. Other than that its not that upbeat and perhaps that's because of what the lyrics are about but its still an incredible song.
The third song off the album is one of my favourites, its called resolve, the same title as the album and its starts off very slow and sad with only the singer singing and a really low volumed guitar in the background, it sounds very sad but then the other instruments kick in and the song really gets going, its got an amazing guitar interlude and some very catchy versus as well.
Runs in the family sound s a bit like bad religion style but they carry the whole thing off to perfection. It starts off with some effects on the voice which sound pretty good to start with especially when they fase off and the other instruments all come in. The song is very fast in pace, its got a really catchy chorus and versus and its got some really great guitar solos as well.
The last track off the album is called days of new, its another song which has amazing guitar going all the way through it and it's the fastest song off the album in terms of instruments, the drums as so fast throughout the verses and they tone down a bit in the chorus but are still really fast then.
Resolve was just a great skate punk album, I enjoyed every song on this album, sure I like some over others but the whole album was consistently great and I'm sure Derrick would have been proud of this if he was still alive today.
