Rating:
Faithless's first album is one of those albums you can return to after a long absence and still feel rewarded with what is on offer. They blend dance with elements of soul and gospel to great effect. Who they: UK based dance outfit, comprising Rollo, Sister Bliss and vocalist Maxi Jazz. On this album: It opens with the title track, a song to get the brain thinking. 'Reverence' is not the hookiest song on the album but it is one of the more intelligent. Jazz's vocals are fresh sounding and inquizitive. It is followed swiftly by the mesmerising 'Don't Leave'. This is one of those tracks which takes a few plays to cement its ... Read the complete review

Most people will recognise at least one of the tracks on this CD. If you are into dance music, you will listen to this CD and recognise several tracks as ambient dance classics; and even if dance music doesn’t interest you at all, you can’t possibly have escaped the last ten years without having heard one of these Faithless tracks on an advert or a television montage. I bought the Reverence album a long time after it was released in 1996 after hearing a rather fantastic excerpt of music in one of the scenes of “Trigger Happy TV” – you may know it, the one where the two men in trench coats meet in the park. It took me weeks of ... Read the complete review

I have to say, this album is absolutely brilliant. I bought it after only hearing to tracks off the album, ‘Don’t leave’ and ‘Insomnia’ I was hoping the other tracks on the album would be similar and just as good, believe me I wasn’t disappointed, and neither will you! Every track is enjoyable. Having said that, I don’t particularly like the first track, probably because I cant classify it into any sort of genre. After the first track however, come ‘Don’t Leave’. Maxi Jazz, suprisingly doesn’t sing on this track, Jamie Catto is the lead vocalist. This particular song is very chilled out ... Read the complete review

An album that will kick you in the teeth and send shivers down your spine........ From the first track you can feel that you are in for something a bit differant. What makes this band so differant is the way they mix so meny cultures of music to make something new. On top of this there is the rapper Maxi Jazz giving you real deep insight to life he himself being a Nacheren Shoshu Buddist. Some of the tracks will sound famillier like Insomnia which was a big club hit, but it does take the album as whole to really feel this groove. try the website at www.cheeky.net for more info ... Great all the way
Nothing
Cowboy - Erasure -
"In My Arms" in particular is glorious; some insanely catchy melodies; Andy Bell's voice
Doesn't always quite maintain that high standard; rather short; that awful cover
I Say, I Say, I Say - Erasure -
"Always" is a world-beater; most of the rest is very good too
Just one or two tracks that don't quite hit the heights
Near Death Experience - Spektr -
atmospheric, fairly varied, good ambient listen
unoriginal has been done better elsewhere
100 Chillout Classics -
Great tracks by various artists, Vocal and Instrumental tracks
Might not like all of the tracks and you might hate the mixes!
Immersion - Pendulum -
Some good tunes and lyrics
A few songs just seem broken up or don't work
