Three Colours Red were a wonderful band. I say 'were' because they sadly parted company after only a few years and two albums but during that time they became a firm favourite of mine. Their output of fantastic Punk/power-pop tunes, with intelligent and thoughtful lyrical content and sheer power was a joy to an old punk like myself! And live they were immensley enjoyable. The band consisted of Pete Vuckovic, Chris MaCormack, Ben Harding and Keith Baxter. They disbanded due to the classic reason - "musical differences" - and have since all gone on to join or start other musical projects, notably Chris MacCormack in Grand Theft Audio. ... I picked this album up one day because I was bored and had some money to burn. Little did I realise what I had stumbled upon. From the first listen I was totally hooked on this fantastic piece of musical genius. The album kicks off in a promising fashion with the headbanger Paralyze quickly followed by the pure rock and melody mix of Pirouette. Beautiful Day, the third track, is without doubt the pinnacle of 3 Colours Red's short musical career. From stunning lyrics that are actually meaningful (a rarity in these days of look and soundalike boy bands) to the excellent mix of rock guitar and classical violins, this song just oozes class. ... This was 3 colours red's 2nd album and Crhis McCormack and the crew will not let you down. This is an excellent album filled with emotional rock tunes that will not be bettered for a long time. The amazing 'Beautiful Day' and the equally brilliant 'pirouette' both feature here as do rockier, punkier songs 'paralyse' and 'paranoid people'. This is an album which will constantly remind you of what a great band 3CR were and make you wonder why they split up. If you like earlier effort 'Pure' or any type of rock or punk music this is the album for you. NinjaCow ... Read the complete review

This album does two things; first it is an amazing rock album. The distinctive three colours red sound is not lost, and songs that make you want to look like an idiot jumping around your romm are still here in bundels. Highlight in Cancel The Exhibition, which sounds like a punk song with a beach boys chorous. Sceondly however, it provides us with evidence of the reasons behind the tragic demise of 3CR. There are two dintinct sounds here, the punk-rock sound of the soungs written by Chris McCormack, and the more ballady sound of the Pete Vucovich written songs. While thee two styles make this album great, it is obvious why the band couldn't really stay together. Buy ... Read the complete review

Oh if only 3 colours red were still with us.... I bought this album about 5 years ago, and the worrying truth is that when i first listened to it, iwas hughely dissapointed. I was recommended it by a friend whose judegement i trusted, but i immediately thought i had made a mistake. How foolish was i? Has it left my CD player since then? Not for a second. Music does really just not get much better than this! Buy or borrow this album and listen to it a couple of times all the way through before you make any decisions on your like/dislike of three colours red. If you've got "Pure" then don't worry, this is a superior album which you should ... Read the complete review
