Better the Devil You Know'. It's all I have to say really isn't it? Everyone knows it, and most love it. A piece of sing along Kylie perfection, with a thumping beat and rhythm that meant it was no surprise she went straight to number one, and went on to become an enduring classic tune which is a huge crowd favourite today. Well and truly looking to shake of her girl-next-door image with her third album, 'Rhythm of Love' led with not only a fantastic single but a video that well and truly pointed out that Kylie had buckets of sex appeal and knew what to do with it. 'Rhythm of Love' coincided completely with Kylie's sexual revolution, where she made ... Read the complete review

Before Kylie’s recent transition into the uber pop-princess that she is now, she experimented with a number of different looks and style. The ‘Rhythm of Love’ collection marked her transformation from cuddly Charlene Robinson with the bubble-perm and peculiar hats to a more fashion-conscious and sexy look. The catalyst for this change was undoubtedly the influence of her then boyfriend, the INXS bad-boy Michael Hutchence. The more adult look, which had tabloid recoiling in horror with her skimpy outfits and new found attitude, seemed to stimulate her decline in the 1990’s as she lost more and more fans with each experimental look. ... This album was by far the best ever work Kylie created with PWL and under the production of Stock Aitken and Waterman, it was around this time that Kylie needed to explore. The news was that Kylie had found sex, drugs and rock and roll, all this was down to one man and that was the late Michael H from INXS, if this is true then thank you Michael you brought us all a Kylie never seen before and the public adored her even more. Although this her best work to date it was by no means Kylie's most successful era, but a damn fine album it is. First up we have 'Better The Devil You Know', now this is not to be mixed up with Sonia's ... Read the complete review

Not one of the more widely discussed Kylie albums, which is a pity as there are a handful of pop gems on here which should be brought to light and discussed on a regular basis. This was a slight shift away from the sound of her first two albums and saw Kylie beginning to explore new sounds and a more disco vibe. Who is she: Aussie pop princess who found fame in the show Neighbours, before being picked for a singing career. She also has her own line in fragrances. Highlights: 'Better The Devil You Know' is as camp as you like, with a glorious disco beat and one of those stimulating choruses which lifts the spirits. The track ... Read the complete review

Wake Up And Smell The Carcass - Carcass
Comprehensive collection of rare material.
Peel Sessions are missing, and most of the songs were B-sides for a reason.
To Mega Therion - Celtic Frost
Extreme thrash classic with unbeatable atmosphere.
Still rooted in the thrash tradition, which may disappoint.
The Best Of - Diamond Head
Great NWOBHM band with some wonderful tracks up their collective sleeve
Some weak points (but only just)
Swansong - Carcass
Easily approachable death-'n'-roll.
Will likely disappoint fans of the band's previous styles; their weakest album overall.
Solar Lovers - Celestial Season
Some beautiful, classically-influenced doom metal.
Stoner rock prominence weakens the effect.
Reign Of Elements - Celesty
Average power metal.
Average power metal.

Progressive touches now work.
Still indebted to the power metal tradition.
Legacy Of Hate - Celesty
More ambitious.
Still uses other bands' ideas.
Choice Cuts - Carcass
lots of material, varied tracklisting, well put-together, some fantastic tracks
Not all fans will appreciate the full spectrum of the band's material

An impressive mix of progressive rock and metal superbly executed.
Five tracks comprising of thirty minutes of music will not appeal to all.
