Advantages: great fast paced punk tracks
Disadvantages: not quite as good songs as they write now
Ribbed is the third studio album from the American punk band nofx. Their first album together was quite a hard punk album and their second got a little softer however this one was even softer yet however I think this is a good thing as this style suit's the band better than their first album did.
The first song green corn is one that I really liked, its really fast and it has some nice parts with the singing and other band members singing along as well however the lyrics could be more developed, the guitar is particularly excellent and there's a really good guitar solo towards the middle of the song.
Showerdays is the third song off the album and its starts with a really a fast and complex sounding guitar riff, well a bit more like a solo really but its backed up by the other instruments, the lyrics to this one are much better and it sounds like more of a full song however the repetitive guitar part gets a bit boring after a few verses.
Cheese is a really good song and probably my favourite song off the album, its not the fastest however I think the lyrics are the best out of any of the songs and its sung well, what I like most though it how it really picks up in tempo in the middle and then has a slower chorus after that, it changes so much throughout the whole song but the different parts, instead of sounding strange just really fit together well.

Ribbed is a great third album by the band, sure it doesn't contain as good songs as they write nowadays however song of the songs on here are really great and if you like nofx and in particular their harder punk or less pop punk songs then this should be an album you'll love as its just total nofx raw punk, yet not too raw like their first album.
Summary: a good one for fans of the older nofx
