Advantages: A wide variety of latino styles blended in with Ricky Martin's passionate and fantastic contributions!

Disadvantages: it can make you look a bit of a pratt if you're dancing round the living room and you forgot to pull the curtains (believe me - I've done that!)

OK...own up! who wanted to take up Salsa lessons when they first heard the Latin beats of Ricky Martin? His music just creates such a feeling of excitement its hard not to get on your feet and sashay your hips all over the place!

With this album you can Salsa to your hearts content and have a Peurto Rican Salsa party in the comfort of your own living room - or anywhere else you may have a CD player. One cool idea - its great to listen and dance about to when you're doing the hoovering etc (but make sure the curtains are closed and noone can see you eh!).

There is a wide variety of styles and moods on the album my favourites being the more dancey ones (with a more "Salsa!" feel) such as the likes of the famous - "Livin la Vida Loca", "Maria", "Shake your Bon Bon", "Love you for a Day" and "The Cup of Life". In all of these songs the Latin rhythms, raunchy brass sections, and exciting melodies/lyrics all compliment Ricky's passion for his native music that he projects sooooo well!

"Love me for a day" is a fantastic track! It starts with voices singing "Ca sera oh Ca sera the future will be will be with us!" and then the raunchy brass section comes in and you know right then that its going to be yet another fantasticly exciting and sexy tune where Ricky's passion for this kinda music shines through. And even better still the lyrics that he comes up with, such as "Let me love you for a day, let me have you for a night, let me take you far away into forever" and "I dont want to let you go, let me undress you slow, I'll take you to another world, let me take you home tonight!" ,drive women crazy! Rememeber that where Ricky comes from they have a VERY STRONG Catholic background and sometimes the only way men and women can express themselves is through music and dancing (which is usually quite erotic, close, sexy and exciting!)so
now you know why Ricky is such a worldwide sex god! lol.

And Ricky has included the Spanish versions of "la vida loca" and "Maria" - the words fit more effectively in these compared to the English versions and sound alot sexier and exciting - maybe because Ricky feels more at ease and passionate with his mother tongue?

The album also includes some slow songs such as - "Shes All I Ever Had", "Me Corazon - please be careful", "Private Emotion".

Even better still the album includes three of my favourite artists - Ricky Martin (of course!), Madonna and Meja - who both sing really touching duets with the Latino lover.

Madonna sings with Ricky the upbeat ballad - "Me Corazon" with lyrics such as - " Be careful with my heart you could break it, dont take my love for granted things could change! Sometimes I go insane I play the fool and you'll agree, I'll never be the same without you here with me" The track starts very Madonna like (a bit like the beginning of Nothing really matters)and both artist's styles are mixed together and blend in very effectively. The calm and relaxed latin rhythms and the blend of Madonna's cool/calm musical style that she had in 1998/1999 make this tune very easy to chill out and relax to.

Ricky sings "Private Emotion" with Meja - (you know - the one who sung - "Its all about the money - dum dum diddy dum dum!") And this is yet another great track that gave Ricky yet another top ten hit! In this one its more to suit Meja's style of music but Ricky pulls it off and shows that he can not only perform just Latino music but also other styles with other people as an duet rather than a soloist!

Obviously - If you cant stand Latin American music and the sounds of Ricky Martin than DONT buy it!!! But if you do then GO FOR IT!!! A little bonus for the girls is that there are few cute pictu
res of Rick in the album cover and the lyrics are included as well - so you can sing along to the tunes and ACTUALLY SING THE RIGHT WORDS!!!

If you like Ricky Martin's sorta thang then you'll love - Santana feat. Rob Thomas - "Smooth", Mark Anthony and Jennifer Lopez (her and Mark Anthony have a really cool duet called "SALSA") Also Ricky's older stuff before this main album is really good - take for example - "La Bomba" which is a typical Puerto Rican/Cuban dance and Ricky's love for his nation's music shines through even more!

As soon as I get payed now I'm out to get his new album "Sound Loaded" which I hear is even better than this one! And as soon as you hear Ricky Martin - Ricky Martin I bet you'll be hooked and have the latin fever too!
