Advantages: Angels will speak to you through this album
Disadvantages: You might be too scared to go out with your friends to buy it!
This is the best album I have heard all year! Two of the greatest guitarists, spanning two classic generations of blues. A collection of standards and BB King classics, the album is sublimely produced to give Eric and King a channel each, and when they trade licks the effect over a quality stereo in a small room is one of an intimate jam between two masters of their craft. If you have an appreciation for guitar well played, or blues from the heart, this is a winner. At any age this represents a classic recording, and from this day forth no CD collection is complete without it. These two men have influenced so much of the music we hear today that to appreciate it's roots, and know that they are still outclassing all-comers is a humbling yet inspiring thought for any musician. If it is between this and the next Radiohead drone about how life's not really very much fun, then get this. Radiohead were weeing thier pants when these guys were rocking the world, and they knwo more about expressing it than intoning to stadiums!

- 30/07/00 i love this...clapton is one of my all time faves and BB King keeps on groaning the blues since i can remember. I appreciate the guitar playing, but you also have to recognise that both guys sing incredibly well on this album in particular |
