Sometimes you just get the feeling someone is conning you...... The Music Political statement, commercial exploitation, or a clever mix of both? Far from a sexual reference, Rock Against Bush vol.1 is Fat Wreck Chords’ first attempt at direct political persuasion, or dissuasion as far as the Bush administration is concerned, however, doubts have been raised as to the authenticity of the reason behind the release of this compilation. This CD features some of the biggest names in punk whilst delivering a postive message. Bands such NOFX, Ataris, Anti-Flag, New Found Glory, Alkaline Trio, Descendents, Ministry, Offspring, Social Distortion and Rise Against are all on it. The problem is that how many of you actually buy a various artist compilation and actually listen to it for more than a week? I think that this compilation is not helped by the fact that all the songs are pretty average and weak compared to what some of these bands can usually produce. Sometimes VA comps are useful for finding new bands as you would buy it for the bands you knew and to be honest i doubt i would look further ... Read the complete review
