... it's because I know that 3 of their young band members have died in gang related crime or not but it does seem that this is jazz with a gangster rap twist, some of the shouting "put your hands up" etc sounds that way. There's a cover of "Sexual Healing" that seems to be well-received by the general public and whilst it's not bad, it doesn't really get me dancing. I find that the song is a good example of what's wrong with the album to my ears - it takes too long to build itself up, playing along...more

Hot 8 Brass Band are one of the band's that took part at this year's Glastonbury, I decided to check out their latest album. The Louisana based brass band are known for their performances in jazz concerts and at jazz funerals in the city. The title track - Rock With The Hot 8, starts off with what seems like relatively chaotic humming along to a tune but as the song progress it becomes more defined and relatively danceworthy.
