Fear Of A Blank Planet - Porcupine Tree ... of a Blank Planet" offers a harsh, bleak and disturbing insight into what Steven Wilson (front man of British prog rockers, Porcupine Tree) sees as our world s future. Six masterfully crafted tracks focus on the "youth of today" - is all hope lost or will they find fulfilment in life? Let me begin my review of the album with a comment on the musicianship. If you enjoy some complex (but not too showy) drumming, you MUST check out Gavin Harrison. He shines on this album. From start to finish he plays with real taste and perfect control. I had not listened to the CD before all the way through, I knew quite a few of the tracks and listened to them a lot on my Ipod, however this review didn t turn out as well as I thought, here s why: - Who is Pink? - Pink is an American singer/songwriter, who is most famous for tracks like Get The Party Started, Who Knew and Feel Good Time. She is also famous for her pink hair, which she died when she first came up with her stage name Pink. Her real name is Alicia Moore. Fountains Of Wayne - Fountains Of Wayne ... what they say is true, and whether the singer should really be admonishing himself, is ambiguous. "Each time you curse at girls / You curse a little at yourself / Don t you know a girl gets angry." The singer sure seems to know from experience, and regrets it. "Don t you know it isn t right." Eleven - Please Don t Rock Me Tonight Another kids relationship song this time with a party setting in which things are going slightly amiss. The tune is big and bold and the music seems to be having a lot more fun at the party than the couple.
