Advantages: Every track is great

Disadvantages: I've not done it justice

The Romeo and Juliet soundtrack is one of my favourites about, although it’s only one CD it’s got plenty of music to entertain you from the hit film. I’m not the biggest fan of Romeo and Juliet brought up to date but I find that the songs not only work well for the plot but also are attractive in themselves.

The track list:

#1 Crush (Garbage)
Local God (Everafter)
Angel (Gavin Friday)
Pretty Piece of Flesh (One Inch Punch)
Love Theme (Des’ree)
Whatever (Butthole Surfers)
Lovefool (The Cardigans of Course!!!!)
Young Hearts Run Free (Kym Mazelle)
Everybody’s free (Quindon Tarver)
To You I bestow (Munday)
Talk Show Host (Radiohead)
Little Star (Stina Nordenstam)
You and ME Song (The Wannadies)

Ok looking at that, unless you’re a music freak, you won’t have heard many of the names but the soundtrack combines all the passion associated with the play with bang up to date tunes. Now saying that I doubt this will appeal to people who aren’t into classical music because it’s pretty rock like.

My personal favourites are Lovefool, you no Love me Love me (You’ll have heard it I’m sure) and Angel, both of which are quite mellow but really express love and romance and emotion. However all the songs are pretty good at doing that in their own way, even Garbage who I don’t usually like have triumphed here.

The album layout is nice too, showing bits of the movie making it very effective and also the CD doubles as a CD-ROM and you can shove it in your drive and see some pretty pictures. Overall I’m hugely impressed by this soundtrack, usually film soundtracks only have one or two decent songs but this has the lot, and will appeal to anyone into rock and pop and I’m certain anyone who’s seen the film.
