Roxette are a Swedish pop group comprising of Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle ,who were formed in 1985 . Per Gessle is the main source of writing material , with Marie Fredriksson being the more prominent vocalally - that said Per Gessle really can sing too. Their first album ?Pearls Of Passion? was released way back in 1986 , a whopping 17 years ago , an eon for pop bands , and to this day they are still going strong.This is their latest studio album and was released during 2001 - since then Marie has undergone major surgery to remove a brain tumour , but is slowly recovering , and so little new material has been produced of late. Roxette, purveyors of mass appeal pop for 12 years, return after a brief absence with an album of tracks aimed straight at the European charts. Per and Marie have populated the UK charts throughout the late 80s and early 90s with hits like The Look, Listen To Your Heart and Joyride. But it's tough at the top and although the gigs never dried up, the hits did around the mid 90s.
