Sepultura - Roots (Roots - Sepultura)
Member Name: MikeyP
Advantages: Great Percussion Disadvantages: none
A classic metal album by these Brazilian thrashers. The main theme of this record is the tremendous backing of the various South American percussive instruments along with the various syncopated rhythms which go along with it. Needless to say this is very heavy stuff, and the Latin percussion adds an extra dimension to the music. Vocalist Max Cavelera puts in a sterling performance, but the true genius on this record is brother Igor on drums, and any other percussion. Highlights include the brutal "Roots Bloody Roots" and the tribal rhythms of "Ratamatata". Summary: |
