Rudebox - Robbie Williams Music Album

Newest Review: ... amazing. He just needs to lay off the rapping. Unfortunatly on this album, we recieve plenty of uneeded poor rapping. ... more

... Luckilly not all of the songs include rapping but the majority of this album is quite electronic with synthpop influences. If you've ever wanted to know how Lily Allen, William Orbit, Stephen Duffy from Duran Duran, and Robbie Williams would sound on a record together, then this is the album for you. There are seventeen tracks on this album, which on anyone's standards (unless the only music you buy are one of those Now Compliations). I personally think that this album is too long and they should have cut some of these s...more

Rudebox - Robbie Williams: What A Rudebox! (764 words)

If you've been an avid reader of my reviews, you might have noticed I've been listening to a lot of Take That stuff recently. You might have also noticed that I've warned you of the dismal rapping from Robbie Williams. Now I don't hate rap. I find early, dark and underground hip hop quite facsinating. You might have figured out that my favourite Take That albums are Beautiful World and The Circus, which don't feature Robbie but we'll get into those albums and Progress at another time. For now we will have a look at Robbie's seventh studio album, Rudebox which was released in 2006. Two music executives were fired because this album sold less in the UK then what was ...  Read the complete review

Robbie Williams Rudebox, Is The Stars Seventh Solo Album. Robbie Williams is my favourite male, solo, singing star. I have been very fond of his voice, looks and overall talents since he first appeared in the boy band "Take That" back in 1990, as a very young sixteen year old hunk, that could dance, sing and put a spell on us ladies. He spilt from the pop group "Take That" in 1995, as he did not get along with a few of the other members, because they critised his use of drugs and damage he was causing to the group. Well Robbie Williams solo career was a instant success and over the years, he has had many, number one singles and ...  Read the complete review

Well, well, well, who'd have thought it, Rob has gone electro pop! Liaising with the likes of the Pet Shop Boys, Lily Allen and Mark Ronson, this is an interesting record to say the least! Lyrically, everything you would expect from Robbie is here, the album is open, honest, tongue in cheek Influences sound like they come from Beck, Jamiroquai, hip hop, , trance and country. I think this album has taken on more of Robbies 'rapping' than previous albums. You'll find several songs are spoken all the way through like rudebox, whereas on old robbie tracks he usually does a little rap at the end. The more I listen to this record the ...  Read the complete review
