It was always going to be hard to imagine En Vogue continuing as a trio after the departure of Dawn Robinson. But somehow they still managed to come up with the goods, and it definately shows that Terri, Cindy and Maxine have still got it with this fab album EV3. 1 Whatever This is a great album opener and a fantastic slice of pop. 2 Don t Let Go (Love) This is the only song on the album that features Dawn Robinson and it shows, it s definately the best track, with a great peice of guitar. 3 Right Direction A cool mellow pop song that has you singing along. 4 Damn I Wanna Be Your Lover One of my fave tracks, a bit of a deep track, but love the vocals. 5 Too ...

this CD is from 1997, I doubt you will still find it in all music shops like Virgin, HMV etc unless they still had some in stock. I saw En Vogue at Night of the Proms in Belgium. They are fantastic. The harmony of their voices just beautiful. Well, moving on to the album. EV3 is En Vogue’s 5th album. They were formed in 1988 by the production team of Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy. After holding auditions, they chose Cindy Herron, Maxine Jones, Dawn Robinson and Terry Ellis to be the members of En Vogue. When the En Vogue album 'Funky Diva's' came out in 1993 I was blown away by the hip-hop beats, exceptional singing and harmony, and attitude of the all-girl R&B group. With such great songs as 'My Lovin' (Never Gonna Get It)' and 'Whatta Man' I think Funky Diva's really is a classic album It had been the first I had heard Dawn, Terri, Maxine and Cindy, even though they had been on the music scene for a few years before then, and produced the album 'Born to Sing' Anybody back then who blew En Vogue off as 'just another girl group' were quickly silenced.
