Advantages: Fun, cheesy

Disadvantages: Some forgettable songs

Although some of the group have disappeared into thin air, some have become actresses and some have attempted to up their celebrity profiles by entering painful reality shows, the members of S Club 7 will always be best remembered for their success as a pop act.

Rachel, Hannah, Tina, Jo, Bradley, Jon and Paul made up the group which started life on the TV programme Miami 7 and burst onto the music scene with the number one Bring It All Back. 'S Club' was their first album and was released ten years ago in 1999.

The album begins with Bring It All Back, which is a bouncy, catchy pop song during which all of the group get to show off their vocal talents. Some are better than others but they can all hold a tune and all their voices blend together nicely on the choruses. This is a very cheerful song and one which encourages you to sing or dance along.

This is followed by two of their other hits, 'You're My Number One' which is also very upbeat and happy, and 'Two In A Million' which is a bit slower and slushier but still has the catchy hooks and bouncy vocals that you will be getting used to by now. Their second hit, 'S Club Party', follows these songs and despite the inane lyrics, this is another one that you may find yourself singing along to. It is all about partying and having fun.

The fifth song on the album is my favourite and is called 'Everybody Wants Ya'. It has an infectious beat and a really cool bridge. After this though the album's quality drops a little bit. The sixth song 'Viva La Fiesta' is another one about the joy of partying but it is instantly forgettable.

'Gonna Change the World' follows and although it's nice to hear the boys singing alone on this one, the lyrics are so cheesy and self-consciously noble that it's laughable rather than thought-provoking. 'I Really Miss You' comes next and is sung by the girls alone. It's very sweet and soppy but also not very memorable. The last three songs, 'Friday Night', 'Feel Good Thing' and 'Hope for the Future' are weaker still and by this time the theme of partying being fun is starting to get boring.

This CD certainly has some good songs on it but it gets tedious after a while and I rarely listen beyond the eighth song. However kids will probably love it!

You can buy this CD for just £3.78 on Amazon.co.uk, but I would not be surprised if you could pick it up for between 50p and £1 from a car boot sale or on Ebay.co.uk.

Summary: Pick it up cheap and it'll be worth it
