Advantages: Sing strange things in the office
Disadvantages: The band is no longer
Well, as you probably would've heard by now, All Saints are no longer. Personal disputes between the girls have reached thier peak and now... no more. They will be doing one last performance apparently, which is a really big shame. I didn't get their first album but I got Saints and Sinners, and it's great. Everyone should know the track 'Pure Shores', the track that came with that movie 'The Beach'. Then 'Black Coffee'. The sound of those two are a little similar, but if you like the song Pure Shores.. you have got to get this album. The next song that seems to stick in my mind is 'All Hooked Up', with the lyrics.. 'I know you want a piece of my ass', what a classic tune! Just imagine what response you'd get if you were walking around the office singing that. Then 'Surrender', the vocals on this track are almost hypnotic, then 'I don't wanna be alone'. This is absolutely superb and it's very sad that the band is split. I was asked to write about their sound, well.. a bit of pop, a bit of hip-hop and a tad of grungey. The band is not your typical poppy girly group, they're more of R &B, music to chill out to. If you've heard the Beach and Black Coffee, the sound is pretty similar, almost heading toward 'alternative' music.
