Recovering The Satellites - Counting Crows

Premium Review Recovering the crows (3099 words)
by edd101 - written on 21/02/02 (Very useful, 260 readings)
Rating:

Recovering the satellites is the second album from counting crows. Counting Crows have a very unique style, you really cannot but your finger on it, its not quite country, but its not quite rock and its not quite punk. The best way to describe it is Beefed up classical rock, which you can listen to what ever mood that you may be in. The album its self is very good with some amazing guitaring and packed with lyrics which really do have a meaning and quite often make you think. The case for the album is a dark green with what looks like a shooting star which is hung up between to buildings and the counting crows logo printed on the top. The track names on the back of ...

Premium Review A LITTLE HARDER,BUT STILL WORTH THE TIME (192 words)
by MiniDEE68 - written on 15/12/01 (Useful, 26 readings)
Rating:

follow up that the crows could have done.It is a little harder and heavier than its predecessor,August and Everything After, but still all in all if you are a true Counting Crows fan you will surely love the change and the fresh sounds of the album. And even still, if you do not feel you could go for the difference there are beautiful melodic songs on it such as Goodnight Elizabeth, A Long December, and Miller's Angels that are reminiscent of their previous endeavor. Other tunes such as I'm Not Sleeping and my personal favorite the bluesy tune Mercury are a bit of a jump from the norm for them but the lyrics of Adam F. Duritz are still the same haunting ...

This Desert Life - Counting Crows

A Great Album (248 words)

Rating:

Another excellent album by the fabulous Crows which I'm sure all the fans out there will already have bought. I went to see the THIS DESERT LIFE tour with a couple of my friends. One of the friends had recommended The Crows to me and I cannot thank her enough. The gig was almost a religious experience and helped me and my friend to become much closer. The songs on this album are instantly recognisable as Crows material but the songs do not get boring and do not all sound exactly the same. I have found that the Crows never write the same song twice which I credit them for,(hint hint Britney Spears). The music is just as emotive as that of AUGUST AND EVERYTHING ...
