Greatest Hits - Garth Brooks
by HarryKeogh - written on 13/06/09 (Very useful, 106 readings)
Rating:
Introduction Since the age of 16 I ve been a massive Garth Brooks fan, and currently own all of his albums and videos. So when I heard about a Garth album that I didn t have I immediately hot footed it to the music store to find it. After much searching I eventually came across the album "In the Life of..." by Garth s alter ego "Chris Gaines". Who is Chris Gaines? Chris Gaines is a fictional Australian country singer of Garth s creation he was meant to be the main character in a film called "The Lamb" and this album was to be a pre-soundtrack to the film. However due to lower than excepted sales of the album the film was never made, but at ...

Garth Brooks in General

Rating:
the finest male country singer ever!!!!!!!! I love too many artists to mention, but some of the men are a bit hard to distinguish, but you always know when it's Garth . I don't think he is the best looking guy I ever saw and his leaping about is a bit much at times, but when he sings a ballad you just melt. 'If Tomorrow never comes', now released as a single by Ronan Keating, which people will probably refuse to admit is country, (well that is another discussion entirely), is absolutely magnificent, it sends shivers up my spine. The same can be said for 'Cowboy Bill' and 'Everytime that it Rains' and I have to say Garth's Debut album in ...

of the finest male country artists I have ever heard. His songs are varied in style. He can do it all and he does. On the album Garth Brooks The Hits you have some of the greatest songs he ever released. The rock style of Ain't Going Down Til The Sun Comes Up and Callin' Baton Rouge. The ballads Friends In Low Places and The Red Strokes, to name but a few. The song I love best from this album is We Shall Be Free, a gospel style song. This is about accepting your fellow man, ending poverty, stopping pollution. This is a fabulous song with a message, fabulous backing vocals, and of course the truely amazing voice of Garth himself doing lead vocals. I only ...

Twenty Golden Crates - Macc Lads
Great, very funny album, offends everyone.
Offends everyone, so never going to be very popular as a whole
The Red In The Sky Is Ours - At The Gates
Classic experimental death metal album, and At the Gates' best.
Some progressive touches aren't as well incorporated as they would like to be.
Surprise - Paul Simon
Meaningful and haunting, beautiful music
None that I can think of
Raising Fear - Armored Saint
Perfection of the band's style, with great guitars and vocals and some timeless classics.
Songs tend towards over-repetition, and end of the album is less noticeable.
Original Sin - Pandora's Box
stirring lyrics, wonderful music, operatic rock anthem
too many ballads
Of The Son And The Father - Astral Doors
Keeping classic metal alive, with a variety of song styles.
Can't escape seeming like a second-rate copy.
Not Too Late - Norah Jones
Voice, stripped down ballads

D'elles - Celine Dion
Pop - Dance Pop - 2007
All Hallows Ep - AFI
Three high quality, totally unique songs (and one quite good Misfits cover).
Irritating interludes.
