Schizo – adj. – Split Phonic – adj. – sound Schizophonic – Split sound (referring to the heaven and hell of Geri Halliwell and the slow and fast tracks on the album.) Ø History. *********** Geri Halliwell split up from the biggest girl band in the world the Spice Girls, a few years back and included in her statement, she said “I’ll be back” and come back she did. Geri has made a name for herself as a solo artist and even though she hasn’t got the greatest voice, she does know how to make some catchy tunes as well as having a great stage presence. I believe that if Geri ... Read the complete review

Geri split from the Spice Girls and quickly carved a successful solo career. Her debut album is a polished selection of tracks fuelled with Geri's growly vocals and some more restrained moments. Who is she: Geri was Ginger Spice of the Spice Girls, before quitting the group. She is now a fulltime mother On this album: The opener 'Look At Me' is an angry sounding song, in which Geri marches around crowing for people to look at her. It is a bold start and also an overly aggressive song. I don't like this song, finding it too snarling. Much better is the charming 'Lift Me Up' which allows Geri to explore her softer side. This ... SCHIZOPHONIC is the title of former SPICE GIRL member GERI HALLIWELL's album. The album consists of ten tracks which I will review. LOOK AT ME is a fast paced dance number. The vocals aren't great and the lyrics are cheesy although the energy in the music makes up for this. LIFT ME UP features some nice lyrics with decent vocals. The melodies are fine although it lacks a bit of vigour in the instrumental area. WALKAWAY is a vigorous tune with great energy powerful vocals. The chorus is excellent and can be sang along with. MI CHICO LATINO is a good mellow track which is sung well and the chorus is really smooth and has a ... Read the complete review

I got this on the basis that Geri Halliwell is a Spice Girl, if she wasn't i wouldn't remotely even give this a listen. It turns out this has a great vibe to it though and i found it uplifting and strangely enjoyed almost every song and i think what a great title to give the album and the cover art and CD is all nicely designed too so well done that as well! Look at me, is incredibly catchy and the lyrics are very meaningful. Lift Me Up, is a real highlight with a great chorus and some great vocals i think it's a brilliant pop song. Walkaway, i think is a homage to Spice Girls - for leaving, this lacks the oomph with the chorus although i think the verses are ... Read the complete review

The first thing I ever heard from Geri Halliwell was when she was ‘Ginger’ in that world conquering, all girl group the ‘Spice Girls’. Over time I became a big fan of the Spice Girls and when Geri ‘Ginger Spice’ Halliwell quit I was hugely disappointed! I thought she would fade into obscurity, and that we would never hear from her again, how wrong was I? She became to be one of Britain’s most talked about celebrities! She is the female equivalent of Robbie Williams. Her much anticipated solo debut album ‘Schizo-Phonic’ is a mix of ‘red’ and ‘white’ songs. ... Read the complete review
