Advantages: Heavy, Good Riffs, Good vocals, Better than the second album

Disadvantages: Less poppy than poision

I have been a long time Fan of Bullet For My Valentine and have followed their development closely since the release of their acclaimed EP Hand of blood. When this their 2nd major release came out I purchased it instantly.

This album is heavier, more produced, and better sounding than it's predecessor the poison. Everything about this album screams improvement. The guitar work has defiantly improved. Padge's lead playing has become finer tuned but also more confident and Matt Tuck is shaping out to be one of the best Rhythm players of modern Metal. The two work together to produce some epic guitar playing on this record.

The opening track and first single is an assault on the ears and the record does not stop there. Track after track the record develops into something that should be listened through from start to beginning. Tracks like Hearts burst into fire break up the assault of metal to provide some moments of calm and tranquillity, whilst tracks like waking the demon and eye of the storm make you feel full of energy ready to explode.

Overall B4MV's second release is a natural progression from their previous releases and takes in a lot of influences from the music they listen to. In my opinion a better record than the poison and i can't wait to see where they go from here.

Summary: A must buy for any metal fan
