... fantastic collaboration with Timbaland. 14 tracks of pure genius, opening with the already released Part of Me and ending with one of my favourite tracks ever, Lost Cause, about a rebellious daughter of a religious man who loses her way. The deep durgy grungy bassline provides a nice foundation for Chris to bellow over. Its infectious nature isnt a one off, the whole album gets the head nodding, sub-conciously or not. I get the feeling the first half of the album is more influenced by Timbaland with the second half sw...more

Probably my favourite album this year, pushed close by Prodigy - Invaders Must Die. The flowing production genius of Timbaland combined with the best voice in the music industry was always going to be a big hit with me. Express Review on Scream - Chris Cornell

Cornell probably wanted to prove that he could sound like mainstream pop hit makers. Well, he failed! Timbaland being the producer, the album sounds like...Timbaland. The rock vocals of Cornell and the loops and samples from Timbaland just don't go together. It is funny for the first 3 minutes -- a rock legend, lead singer of Soundgarden, Audioslave and Temple of the Dog, trying to be Justin Timberlake or Akon --, then it is just boring.
His poorest work, for sure. Can't be compared to his previous material, either the bands or his other solo albums.
If you like Cornell's past, don't listen to this. Want to listen to him solo? Try Euhoria Morning (1999). Because this one is just crap!
