How many of you have heard of the Chameleons I wonder? Not as many as perhaps they deserve I feel. Underrated is a word that is bandied about in the record industry but in the case of this Manchester band I think the word is justified Born in Rochdale in 1981, the band consisted of Mark Burgess on lead vocals and bass, Dave Fielding and Reg Smithies on guitar and the man behind the drum kit was John Lever. The band spent the first two years of their career playing live and doing radio sessions, including several for the late, great John Peel.
