The new album from San Diego's Benedictum is helping to keep the spirit of classic heavy metal alive, but at the same time takes enough influence from more recent power metal trends to keep if from sounding dated. The only times this band seems stuck in a time warp are the fun but daft unison yells of some of the choruses ('Dawn of Seasons') and of course, yet another cover of Accept's popular 'Balls to the Wall' that will satisfy old-timers more than new fans. A few songs rip off the Misfits without quoting directly from their songs, which is a start I guess. Sub-par copy-cat act.

A harder and heavier approach to prove the band's punk rock integrity. Material itself is weak and uninspired.
