Despite this offering being Live’s third effort, it could have been perceived instead as their difficult second album. Their real 2nd album ‘Throwing Copper’ in 1994 launched the band into the rock mainstream. Their first, ‘Mental Jewellery’ was relatively unknown until this time. So with ‘Secret Samadhi’ Live had to come back with an album to continue their huge success. In some ways I think they managed it, in others I think ‘Throwing Copper’ was too much of a classic to match.
