Ah David Gray, coffee table chic. Designed to be listened to in sterile Ikea furnished homes, by twenty something couples who have long lost their love of music but like a little bit of background noise. You can probably find a copy of ‘White Ladder’ alongside ‘The Man Who’ by Travis in every docklands waterside, over priced flat. Ahem, sorry to break up that image but its sadly misplaced. You see, Mr Gray is actually quite good, cast aside any preconceptions you may have gained for they are simply not true. Published in 1996, this album is once again crammed full of good tracks. * The Album Tracks. 6969696969696969696969 # Faster, Sooner Now [2:23] The opening track “Faster, Sooner, Now” is rather a short song consisting of about 2 and a half minutes. I have just come across a copy all be it a tape of the Sell Sell Sell Lp. It's really stunning and fits nicely into his reportoire to date. The sound it a bit rockier and possibly caters for the american listener [not necessarily a bad thing] It is a shame that it is not as widely available.
