It seems that the combination of the two styles, the harder rock approach of Generation Terrorists and the mellower appeal of Everything Must Go, really do compliment each other incredibly well. Having branched off to do a couple of solo projects, Nicky Wire and James Dean Bradfield have returned to the safe confines of The Manic Street Preachers. The result of this reconciliation is the bands 8th studio album and the first one I’ve been excited about for a long time. The last few albums haven’t been too bad but when compared to the earlier efforts such as Everything Must Go and Holy Bible I’d not really felt the same excitement.
