Advantages: Some nice mellow tracks
Disadvantages: Need to realise it is different to recent stufft
This album represents a bit of a shift back to their origins for Goldfrapp as it signifies a return more to the music that they started out with. Maybe this is the equivalent of the seven year itch as this is the seventh album they have released.
Their recent stuff has had a pop come dance feel to it while this album is a lot more mellow. It is a good chill out album after a night clubbing as it has some great ambient music and you can certainly detect a folk influence in some of the songs.
The single release A&E is a great track, it has a wonderful warm feel to it, many of the tracks do seem to merge into one another at times almost like you are listening to a single track album.
Happiness is another strong track and it has a wonderful calming feel to it and a lovely melody as well.
Definately an album worth checking out and I bought my copy for £6.99 from 4cheapcds.com which includes delivery as well.
