Standing On My Own - Shiri Maimon
Some good songs, Shiri has a nice voice
Too many average songs, not long enough
Sister - Sonic Youth
Loud, experimental, cool, still fresh after 20 years
Not for you if you're into pop...
Freedom Call - Angra
Intriguing enough for die-hard fans, stretching the band's progressive tendencies to breaking point.
A few really, really naff songs.
Atom-Age Vampire in 308 - Balzac
Enjoyable Misfits-style punk, with the band's strongest early material.
Second side is less interesting.
Bach/Beethoven/Mozart - Works For Violin And Piano
Aren't You Dead Yet - Carnal Forge
Fun thrash-death metal.
Like a less good version of The Haunted.
Against The Elements - Beyond the Embrace
Keeping the spirit of melodeath alive, with some good vocals too.
Owes everything to a couple of In Flames albums.
Escape - Whodini
Hip-Hop & Rap - 1992
With Love And Squalor - We Are Scientists
Some great songs; catchy riffs; distinct and stand out vocals
Track quality not maintained over entire album
