Shaved Fish - John Lennon

Many, many, many years ago my husband asked for a particular cassette as a birthday present. I trotted of to the music store and could only remember that it was by John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band and was called something like Shark Fin Soup. The tuned in and turned on assistant knew exactly what I wanted , 'Shaved Fish', a compilation of tracks by John Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band. This compilation of Lennon's earlier work as a soloist combines the great music he produces with the varying styles and sounds that he was able to create so well. He is able to create a great number of tracks that have a certain correctness about them with the melody being just right and lyrics being of extremely high quality. The album kicks off with the great track Give Peace A Chance that was co written with McCartney and then recorded in a hotel room in Montreal. Other great tracks from this album include Instant Karma, Imagine, #9 Dream, Power To The People and the christmas song Happy Xmas (War Is Over).
