Released in 2002, 'Shenanigans' is a compilation album of Green Day music featuring a collection of B-Sides, covers, and rarities recorded between the years of 1993 and 2002. Also featured here is a track titled 'Ha Ha You're Dead' which was newly recorded for inclusion on this album. Despite the bands attempts to make this album worth owning by recording a new track, 'Shenanigans' is I feel a completely unneeded album in the personal music collection of most. There's not much of interest on display here at all, the music isn't all bad but certainly this release is not worth the £9.99 price tag that it is given at current at Play.com; a price that I personally paid for ... Shenanigans was a compilation album released by green day in 2002. It includes B sides, covers and rare unreleased material by the band which is all great to hear if you're a fan of green day like I am, however I cant help but feel that it just contains some songs that simply weren't good enough to get onto the studio albums in the first place. The first song suffocate is a fairly good one, it was a b-side for the single time of your life. I quite like the song, but its pretty much just an average one from green day which is probably why it didn't make the album in the first place. You lied is the third track off the album, again it's a pretty ... Read the complete review

Don't get me wrong, I think this is a great set of songs, and Green Day are still my favourite band on the planet. It does suffer from being a B-side collection and is therefore more of a collection of odds and sods rather than a proper album, which means it is less balanced, less 'Green Day' than you're perhaps used to. The album does have it's highlights - the amazing 'JAR', previously only available on the Angus soundtrack is in my opinion one of the best things Green Day have done in their career, it's classic old skool Green Day with lumbering bassline, breakneck speed and tender lyrics about a childhood friend who died. ... Green Day are highly regarded as one of the best in the business of punk rock and have gained world recognition from their catchy 3 chord songs and brilliant lyrics. Their live shows are considered to be one of the best around which has only increased their populatrity. Shenanigans is Green Days third complitation album and contains mostly B sides from previous albums aswell as rare recordings, covers and the previouly unreleased track "Ha Ha Your Dead". As a Green Day fan, this would be a worthwhile purchase, and at £4.98, is a pretty good bargain. The album does not really have any tracks that really stand out as being Green Day hits, they are all pretty good ... Read the complete review

As I have mentioned in my first review, i am a huge fan. Green Day are very....accessable, meaning they're liked by many and so are their albums, obviously. However, it is worth noting this IS an album of b-sides, and covers(the kinks, the ramones etc) so this album isnt really like their others. I think the songs are alot lighter, very catchy, holding more of an old fashioned rock 'n' roll feel to them, which alot of people will like, and many may not, if they prefer albums like insomniac or nimrod. If you like the feel and sound of the 'lookout!' albums though, you'll probably take great shine to this. My personal fave tracks are suffocate, ... Read the complete review
