Introduction --------------- Shiftwork is the fourteenth Studio album by the cult Mancunian band The Fall. The album was released in 1991 on Phonogram records and sees the band foray into more melodic and accessible sounds. War Of The Worlds: Bad Astronaut Vs Armchair Martian - Bad Astronaut Vs Armchair Martian
Armchair Martian temper Bad Astronaut's pop direction. Bad Astronaut exacerbate Armchair Martian's irritating ballads.

The Best Of The Beat Farmers - Beat Farmers
Some degree of variation, and most songs are perfect examples of the style. Too much focus on the light country style for general consumers.

Out Of The Grave And Into The Dark - Balzac
'Came Out of the Grave' is great, and 'Dark-Ism' is a reasonable follow-up. The second album lacks imagination, and is duller.

Houston We Have A Drinking Problem - Bad Astronaut
Some melodic and sad elements. Dominated by less impressive pop rock.

Ego Trippin' - Snoop Dogg
Lots of hits A few weaker tracks

Chthonic Chronicles - Bal Sagoth
The band finally gets it together, and perfects its distinctive sound. Not easily accessible.

Battle Magic - Bal Sagoth
Continuing to re-define the sound. I'm not so fond of the direction change.

Atlantis Ascendant - Bal Sagoth
More of the same. More of the same.

Acrophobe - Bad Astronaut
Mostly successful mix of pop, rock and light punk without any of the bad bits. When it slides into pop punk territory, sick bags may be required.
