The other day I was out with £10 and say this on offer in Music zone for £3. At the time i didn't realise it was the limited edition version (can't see any difference except for the product Id code that ciao gives for the two products). The disk comes in a cardboard "book" style case with a picture of the 4 band members on the front and track listing on the back. Inside theres there credits. Inside the casing is also a booklet (this maybe the limited edition section?) which just contains pictures of the band no lyrics or anything. Is it just me that feels the need to read the lyrics whilst listening to the music? The track list is absent ... Read the complete review

The second effort from Aussie rockers Jet comes under reasonable pressure. With hugely successful single Are You Gunna Be My Girl there was some form of pressure riding on this and they couldn't risk ripping off classic rock songs a second time... Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is Falsetto tinny lead vocals and cowbell charcterise this song for me. Its got the chunky guitars we know from Jet but cowbell!? Distorted falsetto vocals!? Things are a bit different and the song doesn't charge on at full speed all the way through. Its a different Jet, the song feels more glossily produced, dropping the rawness of their debut. I'm not such whether this is more ... Read the complete review

JET'S NEW ALBUM SHINE ON - If you have not heard of them yet, dont you think its about time you did? The Australian Rockers JET return with thier second album "Shine On" as the follow up title to thier outstanding debut album "Get Born". The band themselves had a very subdued debut on the UK music scene with thier songs getting little radio play. In fact two years ago very few people even knew the band existed at all, but that all changed with one vodaphone advert. Jet's reworking of the base line from Iggy Pop's "Lust for Life" led to the creation of "Are you going to be my girl?" one of the best guitar ... Read the complete review

Being an avid listener to Jet's first album, Get Born, I looked forward to this album with some excitement...and much like the first album, I started off not liking it at all, and now - some 2 months in - having it on constant repeat in the car. Much like the first album, Jet stick to a couple of very different styles - Standard Indie Rock and ballad-esque almost love pop songs. However, they bring with the new material a mature blues sound which, being a blues musican myself, is actually rather good. To answer some of the usual critics, you're right - there are some very oasis-like songs on there. I suggest you listen to more than the first 3 ... Read the complete review
